"The other place"

“The root of life"
A black and white photo took in February 2021. This year, remote study system gives international students an opportunity to spend more time with families. At this festive time of the year, I aim to show my gratitude through this photograph with my mom modeling. You can see several elements in this photo: jewelry, ring, the branch and flower, the body skin and the scar. They are each independent but related. The very obvious comparison is between the jewelry and scar, which presents the beauty of women and the pain she had suffered to be a mother. Another element is the wrinkles on her fingers which represent the hardship of raising a child. The last element is the branch and flower. This actually represents that her child has bloomed into a grown life. It could also be seen as the root of that branch, conclusively this is the root of all life.
